Japanese lyrics and lyric notes after the jump.
Underlined-Rin; Plain-Len
I was told to pick so I
Chose a rose and handed it back to him
Absent mindedly, those roses, he started to crush them without a though on his mind
So when I became angry
His eyes widened in such a tearful surprise
And the petals that stained his very hands red
He places them quietly in my own
Why do you hold something like that so dear?
Only our young days will live on in your mind
If you refuse to pick a bloomed flower
Soon there will be no flower to pick at all!
That was, yes, that was
The memory written on a single petal from then
Memories of a green summer, however fond they are the
Wishes from love will never come true, that is
Now, yes, this time now
Does nothing but wither away with doubt in my mind
The spring rain tells me that I have not slept
Because my love, because, my love, I can never sleep again as long as it rains
Spring rain, please, to the one that I love
Even if I tried it won’t stop
My eyes, the water begins to fall rapidly
That water stains the memory of you…
“The flower will hurt once you pick it”
…If I must, I’ll clean it up
Because the dream of summer will never wash away
In this desert even the sand is unfaithful
I’m at a loss even deeper than the sky
At a night when even the moonlight is out
The flowers reach to the sky pleasantly
If I were to pick a rose that’s bending down
It would smell like the person that I hold dear
Now, yes, now it is
That you don’t even exist in this world, do you?
Spring rain, tell me, why must I cry so much?
To my love, yes my love, once again this night I have not slept at all
Spring rain, please, to the one that I love

These are my favorite words. I love these so much. I put a lot of effort into these, and they're pretty great. This song uses a lot of repetition to get a point across in an old-fashioned way. It sounds just lovely when you hear the yearning of the lyrics. The imagery o flowers in this song is fabulous, and really makes a point. From the roses, which with the PV represents blood/memory as well, make a great point about confusion. There's a lot of talk about "petals" and "withering," which makes for a good song. And Len's lines about deserts are breath-taking.
Speaking of petals, I'm listening to "Bloom Nobly, Cherry Blossom of Sumizome," and it reminds me just how much I love Yuyuko~
